The sixth and final principle of naturopathic medicine is 𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧.
Prevention is the easiest form of healthcare. It’s the cheapest, the healthiest and oftentimes it’s more enjoyable than treatment.
Prevention has long been discussed as the basis of medicine, but unfortunately, many health care systems are not set up for proper prevention education. .
Many NDs will focus their practise on preventing common health complaints, such as diabetes, osteoporosis, miscarriage, sports injuries, muscle pain and various other issues.
Rather than simply treating a patient for an illness, the aim with naturopathic medicine is to identify and prevent these common complaints before they manifest in a patient’s symptoms.
